Celebrating 413 Followers! (give or take a few)

To celebrate how much I can’t count, I’m having my first-rd giveway, offering up this fine weapon from the Derse arsenal, the REGISWORD.  Stab your enemies.  Stab your friends.  Send anyone who wanders into your office on a perilous assassination mission.  Whatever you want, it’s yours!

WINNER RECEIVES:

  • One Regisword
  • A custom Derse Hitlist with targets of the winner’s choosing

WHAT THE WINNER DOES NOT RECEIVE:

  • A silly hat or uniform that you are required to wear by order of the Black Queen.  You didn’t want to wear that stupid thing anyway.  It’s awful.

Rules:

  • Reblog this post.  No giveaway blogs or alt accounts please.
  • There’s only one winner because I ain’t Jack Noir over here and have a pile behind my desk that I can just hand out willy-nilly.
  • You don’t have to be following me to win, but if perhaps if you like prop making, props, and mostly Homestuck cosplay, why not Zoidberg?
  • HOWEVER, I do wish to give a thank you reward to all my followers, so those following this blog will get an extra chance to win in addition to their reblog entry.
  • You must have your ask box open at the contest’s end!  I’ll randomly select a winner, but if you don’t respond within 48 hours, I’ll be skipping on down to the next person on the list.
  • Winner within the United States pays NO SHIPPING.
  • For international shipping, I’ll cover the first 18 dollars, but the winner must cover the rest if necessary and understand the problems that may arise with international shipping (lost packages, customs hangups, longer shipping times, marauding bears, etc.)

Contest ends September 13, 2014!  Good luck and perhaps the likelihood of winning be always in your corner.

to my awesome followers

Hello new followers! ^_^  don’t worry i have a tiny knit in the progress to show you soon. I-cords on the .7mm needles are like, twilight zone small man.

And for old/mutual follows, while i am still posting im not actively following my dash right now. so if you want me to see something please @ tag me as i am checking my activity page. also my ask and submit are both open.

Hey Look cosplay stuff that isnt in doll form. So, my area is having a prom stuck event and i am taking effervescentsky and we shall be Human Lesbifins(a Homestuck pairing for the non-homestucks)

i dont really have the money to spend on proper supplies to mod a pair of glasses for my Meenah and i didn’t care for most of the ones i could get close enough. Therefore since its suppose to be fancy and prom i figured a mask would work just as well and it would help fancy me up since im not wearing a prom dress(i dont think i can fit into my lipservice dress right now any ways)

on top of that i also played around with nail polish ideas for the event. i so far the the current winner is all 10 fingers being painted pink with black tips and one thumb getting a boonbuck sign and the other the pisces sign. but may change it up after i search the house stash of jewelry relate stuff for some mini slat back rhinestones and gems. very tempted to do the above other then the pisces sign and do the second thumb all gol and COVER it in tiny stones an mini pearls etc etc, if i can find enough i like. or just do it to the ring finger of the hand with the boonbucks sign.

other nail ideas are welcome.

Not sure if your tags were ment for me or babreknits, but if its for me then… technically speaking i already have with one needle size larger then this, US 5/0. (you didnt say it had to be a shirt for a human, lol)

This is a little too much for me lol. I’m sure you could make some really neat items though! Or get a job in stop motion.

oh no what are you swatching for? we about talk about cobweb problems

i was wanting a general size/feel of how it knits up(and some practice using that size) before jumping into some miniature in-scale doll clothes. im actually trying to decide on what specifically to start now but im being all wishy-washy.

Oooooh…SHINY…I want to play. I suddenly have this urge to start knitting neck ties and ruffles again. Where does one go about finding needles that tiny?

mine are the 4in DPNs by HiyaHiya and i bought them on ebay because thats where i found the best deal. sadly they dont make the US8/0 (.7mm is a US6/0 or US000-000)  ebay really has the best prices on micro needles because there people have to actually compete a bit. Hiya Hiya also makes circulars down to US 6/0. (which i will need to invest in some time)
Etsy also tends to have a small selection of micro needles but again there is -usually- better pricing on ebay.
if you want a needle that is less smooth Black Thorn needles go own to US4/0 and are made from a carbon fiber composite that gives them a ‘stickiness’ similar to bambooSusan Bates has a sock set of DPNs with US 000-US 1 all sol together, a good starting point before going down to smaller sizes.
i dont think i have ever seen a brand name on a US8/0 before an there are other brands then those i mentioned here, just figure out what size you want an go some ebay/google searching. i personally have ever seen any type of store sell below US3/0 and that was pretty much only the sock set i mentioned(i think i got it at hobby lobby, its been yars since then tho)
ah and some last bit of info this chart shows all the ‘standard’ needle sizes, there is one lady whom is popular  for miniature knitting(the one that did the knitting for Coraline) and she has some non-standard ones but i have sadly not hear good reviews from people buying from her. however, ive never ordered from her so i cant speak from experience.

bunimalsfiberdolls replied to your photo “ended up roughly 9.5st/cm now to decide what to make… seriously…”

I might just *die* if you did colorwork at the scale. The epic-ness would just be too much!

well that sounds like a challenge if i ever heard one *cackles*

last post for tonight. behold my macgyvered mini niddy noddy out of some cotton yarn and bamboo DPNs.  at current, err.. settings, it gives me a 34cm/wrap skein. im gonna make up several and experiment with dyeing.

ended up roughly 9.5st/cm
now to decide what to make… seriously considering a tiny fair-isle colorful sweater vest. wanna see if i can knock something out to enter into the texas state fair contest, but i need to decide what and send in a registration form this week. then i will have a month or so to finish it. ideas?

dropped stitches with .7mm needles is a whole new level of hell

behold the disgruntled webpixie’s micro knitting face.  i use generic reading glasses to make it a bit easier to see but i still need my glasses. i can do it without the extra glasses but is easier with them.
also you are totally suppose to store knitting needles in your mouth when not in use.

so i got in my The Monarch and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch action figures friay but i had saly alreay left for a friends house so i finally got to have them in my hands toay when i got home, and got to play. ill actually most more(maybe as an onling series of the mini monarchs) later. and no still not back yet ive got a bit catching up todo with RL things. when i finish there will be lots o in-scale BJD knitwear and chainmaille. im also working on some swatches with my smallest sets of neeles with some cobweb yarn i bought abile back. will atleast share photos soon but going to not be following my dash until my “need to-do” list is shorter.

BOOM BABY

all that’s left is grafting and weaving and blocking but YAY

AND IT FITS. (I’m a us 8 in most sizes and used the L instructions)

I started out just taking pics and I don’t even know what it turned into, like gang signs maybe idek and the nerdfighter salute

Also if possible I’ll never use this yarn again for something that touches skin because it itches like a motha

Oh and I’m not smiling but only because it hurts since I also had a root canal today
